One person was killed Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 68 in Nicholas County, Kentucky State Police said.
Glenda Crump, 22, of Carlisle died at the scene, state police said in a news release.
Timothy Thompson, 37, of Lexington was driving east in a 2007 International box truck when two westbound vehicles entered his lane.
Kayla Livingood, 24, of Carlisle was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, and Crump was driving a 2009 Ford Focus. It was unclear why Livingood and Crump ended up in Thompson's lane.
The road in that area is two lanes.
Thompson was not injured. Livingood was taken to Bourbon County Community Hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
State police are investigating the crash, which happened about 8 a.m. Wednesday.
All lanes of U.S. 68 remained closed at 2 p.m., police said. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes.
The crash is under investigation by Trooper Eric Barnett and Detective Charles Hasselwood.
