A man was found dead after an apartment fire in Winchester, the Clark County coroner's office said.
Ronald D. Sellars, 53, was found dead in an apartment about 1 p.m. Monday on Oxford Circle in Winchester, the coroner said in a press release.
Never miss a local story.
Battalion Chief Kenneth Williamson of the Winchester fire department said the fire might have occurred Sunday afternoon, but no one knew about it at the time.
He said that after all the oxygen in the apartment was used up, the fire went out on its own. Family members found Sellars dead when they went to check on him Monday, he said.
Sellars' body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
Williamson said the fire appears accidental, but officials have not made a final determination.
