An autopsy will be performed on the body found Sunday night in a house fire in southern Clark County.
The person who died probably won't be identified until Tuesday, said Coroner Robert Gayheart. The state medical examiner's office in Frankfort is scheduled to conduct the autopsy Tuesday, Gayheart said.
The body was found by firefighters who responded to a report of a brush fire at 6:33 p.m. Sunday.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters discovered that it was actually a house that had burned at 415 Ralston Lane, about 10 miles south of Winchester near the Kentucky River.
William Puckett, battalion chief for the Clark County Fire Department, said the gravel lane was too narrow for a fire truck to pass, so a smaller brush truck shuttled water between the main truck and the scene.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately known, but Puckett said it is under investigation by the state fire marshal's office.
