WINCHESTER — Army Staff Sgt. James Hunter's body returned to Kentucky Saturday, and was met by a crowd of people on South Main Street holding American flags.
Hunter, 25, was a Lexington native who was killed in an insurgent bomb blast June 18 while on foot patrol in Afghanistan.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 204 South Main Street in Winchester, with the Rev. James Williams presiding. Burial will follow in the veterans section of Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday held at the church.
Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home in Winchester is in charge of arrangements.
