A man who had been shot showed up at the Office Depot on Nicholasville Road in Lexington late Saturday afternoon, and police later charged him with having drugs and a firearm.
Police were called to the Office Depot in the Southpark shopping center at about 5:20 p.m. in response to a man with gunshot wounds in his chest and hand, according to a news release from Lexington police.
Police said the man, Charles C. Davis, Jr., had gotten out of his car in the parking lot at 169 East Reynolds Road to throw something in a Dumpster. A black Dodge Challenger pulled up, and police said several shots were fired.
“Mr. Davis has been uncooperative with investigators,” police said in the release.
Officers found marijuana, cash and a firearm inside Davis’ car and charged him with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana, according to the release.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
