Because of dry and windy conditions, burn bans were issued Thursday for Fayette and Madison counties.
People in Fayette County should avoid setting any outdoor fires, including garbage fires, outdoor cooking and construction debris fires, until the ban expires Sunday at 8 a.m., according to the Lexington Fire Department. All open burn permits are suspended until the ban is lifted.
The Madison County Fire Department posted on Facebook Thursday that a burn ban issued by Judge-Executive Reagan Taylor will be in effect until further notice.
