A 41-year-old man has been charged with theft after police said surveillance cameras caught him stealing from a Lexington Kmart store.
The store reported the incident Feb. 20, police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said. The man was identified as Roy Purdon. He is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
Store employees told police the man was seen putting electric razors in a shopping cart. Employees said he put something in a large, white laundry bag and placed the bag back on a shelf, Angel said.
Later, the man came back to the shelf and put some of the razors in the bag and concealed other items under his clothes before taking the bag and leaving the store without paying, the employees told police.

Purdon was arrested Friday following another incident involving theft from the Sportsman’s Warehouse on War Admiral Way. He was also accused of assaulting two employees and possessing drug paraphernalia.
