New signs and street markings in downtown Lexington are informing drivers of public parking.
The Lexington Parking Authority says to look for the new "Blue P" 24-inch by 30-inch, aluminum signs near entrances of parking garages and lots with public parking. The signage program also features a 6-foot "Blue P" street marking.
Twenty-five signs and seven markings will be installed.
"Visitors to downtown are often confused as to where parking facilities are located and whether or not they are allowed to park there," said Parking Authority executive director Gary Means. "This new program will help visitors locate facilities offering public parking."
No tax revenue will be used for this project as the authority is funded by revenues collected in its parking operations.
