A water main break on North Broadway, just north of New Circle Road in Lexington, might have been caused by extremely cold temperatures, a Kentucky American Water spokesman said.
The break occurred about 1 p.m. Friday, and water was shut off for about 12 commercial customers and five residential customers, spokesman Ray Golden said.
The problem was expected to be fixed by midnight.
Inbound lanes on North Broadway in the area were shut down while crews worked, and traffic was being rerouted.
Golden said cold can cause the ground to shift and result in a main break.
