Lexington police arrested a man Monday who officers say fatally shot an acquaintance.
Police said Dedric J. Brown, 30, of Lexington, was involved in a fight with Brannon Winn, 24, of Lexington, in the area of Sixth and Toner streets about midnight Monday. Police said Brown shot Winn during the argument.
Lexington police Lt. Doug Pape declined to comment on the subject of the argument.
Officers who arrived at the scene shortly after midnight found a trail of blood but no victim, Pape said.

Brown and witnesses had taken Winn to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a little after 1 a.m., police said. Officers also responded to a call from the hospital about the gunshot victim.
Winn died of a shot to the chest, according to the Fayette County Coroner's office.
Brown has been charged with murder in the shooting. He has previously been convicted of second-degree sexual abuse, possession of a controlled substance and terroristic threatening, according to court records.
Brown will appear in Fayette District Court Tuesday for an arraignment.
