The survivor of a two-vehicle crash that killed two women Saturday was in serious condition Sunday night at University of Kentucky Hospital.
James Samples, 45, of Lexington was driving an eastbound car on Interstate 64 that was struck by a west-bound vehicle at the 119-mile marker in Bath County.
Tessa Harris, 27, of Ashland, the driver of the other vehicle, and Debbie Samples, 45, of Lexington, died after the crash. Debbie Samples was a passenger in the car driven by James Samples.
Harris was traveling westbound when she lost control and crossed into the eastbound lanes, hitting the car driven by James Samples, Kentucky State Police said.
