A seven-car crash on Winchester Road at New Circle Road in Lexington injured five people on Friday, police said.
The accident happened just after 8 p.m. None of the injuries was considered life-threatening, Sgt. Mike Wright said.
A maroon minivan, headed outbound on Winchester Road with its headlights off, ran a red light and hit a grey Chevy Astro minivan, Wright said. The Astro, heading inbound on Winchester Road, was turning left onto New Circle. The other cars involved ran into the accident scene on inbound Winchester Road.
Larry E. Camelin Jr., 37, who was driving the maroon minivan, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital and will be charged with driving under the influence based on officers' observations at the scene of the accident, Lt. Chris Van Brackel said.

Van Brackel said Camelin may face additional charges.
The driver of the Astro was also taken to the UK hospital, with injuries including a fractured femur, Van Brackel said.
Outbound traffic on Winchester Road was blocked for more than an hour and a half.
