A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle and reportedly refused medical treatment last week died from head injuries two days later, Lexington police said Tuesday.
Jack Veach, 41, of Lexington was found dead Friday at an apartment in the 300 block of Elaine Drive, police said in a release. Police said an autopsy determined that Veach died of blunt-force trauma to the head.
On Dec. 15, Veach was walking across South Broadway near Elaine Drive when he was hit by a 1996 Plymouth van driven by Carolyn Johns, 60, of Lexington, police said.
Police said Veach "refused treatment" by Lexington firefighters and refused to be taken to a hospital.

Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said she could not say whether road conditions contributed to the crash.
The release said police did not suspect Johns was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The death is being investigated as an accident, according to a release from the Fayette County coroner's office.
