Some streets in and around the University of Kentucky dormitories will be partially blocked Friday as UK students return and begin moving into their dorms. Motorists should use caution and expect some delays when traveling through the campus. Huguelet Drive, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Lexington Avenue will be one way.
Some congestion can be expected in downtown Lexington between 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays from Central Bank Thursday Night Live.

Motorists should be aware of city and state mowing crews during the summer along state and local highways. Use caution and be aware of workers in the medians and along the side of the road.
MAJOR TRAFFIC IMPACT
Nightly lane closings are scheduled for westbound Interstate 64 in Fayette County for milling and paving. Work will begin at 7 p.m. each evening and continue to 6 a.m. the next morning from Monday through Aug. 22. The work includes weekends. One lane will remain open at all times. The work is between mile points 71 and 74.
Lane closings on New Circle Road are scheduled this month near a railroad bridge between Liberty Road and Young Drive. Work will be performed during the following dates and times:
■ Monday to Thursday and Aug. 22 to 25: Work will begin at 7 p.m. each day and continue until 7 a.m. the next day. One eastbound lane will be closed, with one lane open at all times.
■ Aug. 29 to Sept. 1 and Sept. 5 to 8: Work will begin at 7 p.m. each day and continue until 7 a.m. the next day. One westbound lane will be closed with one lane open at all times.
The closings are needed for R. J. Corman Railroad Co. to complete sandblasting and painting the bridge.
SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
The right outbound lane of Harrodsburg Road will be blocked as needed between Della Drive and Cheryl Lane through Thursday for utility work.
The inbound right lane of Newtown Pike will be blocked at Earl Court through Friday for sewer work.
Russell Cave Road will be closed at the railroad tracks between Faith Street and Park Place 24 hours a day from Wednesday through Friday for rehabilitation of the railroad crossing. The closing starts at 6 a.m. Wednesday, and a detour is in place.
The left outbound lane of South Upper Street will be blocked between West High Street and West Maxwell Street, from Tuesday through Aug. 23 for utility work.
West Third Street will be closed at the railroad tracks between Newtown Pike and Henry Street 24 hours a day through Wednesday for work on the railroad crossing. A detour is in place.
The right outbound lane of Winchester Road will be blocked between Detroit Avenue and Liberty Road through Tuesday for utility work.
The left parking lane and the left travel lane of East Main Street will be blocked 24 hours a day, seven days a week from Rose Street to South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard through Sept. 16 for streetscape work.
