An injured deer was spotted Friday night on the corner of Woodland and Central avenues in downtown Lexington.
Alexander Newman and Megan Schommer, both 18, were two of the many people who called the sighting in to the police department.
Newman and Schommer saw the deer while they were walking to Main Street for the Occupy Wall Street protest. Schommer said the deer was limping and appeared to be bleeding around the nose.
"It looked terrified," Schommer said.
The two watched the deer jump a fence into a private residence on Woodland Avenue, then they called the police.
"It could still run and jump," she said. "So it can't be hurt that bad."
"I figure it'd be hard to catch a deer in the downtown of a big city," Newman said.
Police officers were looking for the deer, but hadn't found it Friday night.
