The annual Fire Prevention Parade and Festival in downtown Lexington from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. Monday will have the following effect on downtown streets: Midland Avenue will be closed between Main Street and Third Street/Winchester Road; Main Street will be closed between Midland Avenue and Mill Street. The festival will begin at 5 p.m. at the Fifth Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park. The parade starts at 7 p.m.
Some congestion should be expected around Cheapside Park from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays due to Thursday Night Live.

SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
Alexandria Drive will be closed at the railroad tracks, with a detour in place from 6 a.m. Wednesday through Friday, for a total rehabilitation of the crossings.
Van Meter Road will be closed at the railroad tracks near Chimes Band Drive, with a detour in place from 6 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, for total rehabilitation of the crossing.
One lane at a time will be closed on East High Street between Kentucky and South Hanover avenues through Oct. 31 to attach new power lines and detach old lines. Street parking will be closed as needed.
The rightmost right turn lane on the outer loop ramp of East New Circle Road and the rightmost lane on Richmond Road will be closed through Wednesday for phone line work.
One lane at a time will be blocked as needed at Pleasant Ridge Drive between Colorado Road and Aspen Street from through Friday for milling and paving work.
