Fifi, billed as the nation's last flying Boeing B-29 Superfortress, is expected to land Thursday at Lexington's Blue Grass Airport to prepare for a weekend of tours and rides for the public.
The World War II-era Fifi will be joined by a P-51 Mustang called The Brat III, a World War II-era fighter plane. The visit is sponsored by the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, which is located at the airport. Fifi and The Brat III are part of the Commemorative Air Force B-29/B-24 Squadron at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison, Texas.
Tours of the planes and rides on them will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Museum admission costs $15 for people over 12 and $10 for children ages 6 to 12. World War II veterans will be admitted free.
