The suspect and the second victim in the shootings of two women in Stanton have died, Kentucky State Police said in a news release.
Randy Derrickson died early Thursday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. Derrickson was accused Tuesday of shooting two women in the face, killing one, before turning the gun on himself.
His former girlfriend, Lori Hall Boswell, was taken to the UK hospital in critical condition. She died Thursday as well, about 4:20 p.m., state police said in a news release.
The first shooting occurred about 4:15 p.m., when Derrickson went to the Boswell's home on Sipple Street, said Trooper Endre Samu, public affairs officer for state police in Morehead.
Samu said Derrickson shot Boswell, who is in her mid-30s, once in the face during an argument outside her home.
Derrickson then went to a home on Karen Drive, looking for Boswell's new boyfriend, who was not there, Samu said.
Rhonda McIntosh Rogers, 35, who lived next door, came over carrying a baseball bat, and Derrickson shot her in the face twice, killing her, Samu said.
While fleeing police later, Derrickson stopped his car and shot himself in the head with a .38 caliber revolver, Samu said.
