Lexington police were investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital on Trent Boulevard on Sunday night.
His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. Lt. Roger Holland said it appeared the man was shot in the lower back. Police said he was conscious and talking to investigators Sunday night.
The victim, who was not named, told police he was walking near the intersection of Trent Boulevard and River Park Drive when someone confronted him and shot him, Holland said.
The man apparently ran to the door of a nearby town-home complex where a friend lived. While several officers searched the ground for shell casings, another officer stood guard at the door to the complex, which was stained with blood.
Never miss a local story.
Police did not have a thorough description of the suspect Sunday night, only that he was bald and wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.
