Cranes moved steel and formwork Friday for the foundation walls of a seven-story in patient bed tower at the Central Baptist Hospital campus on Nicholasville Road.
The hospital is in the middle of a $200 million expansion project, to be completed in late 2014 or early 2015, hospital spokeswoman Ruth Ann Childers said. Work is nearly done on a new dining area and chapel, she said.
The expansion also will include a new cancer center and a women's center with labor and delivery, surgical and neonatal intensive care facilities.
