Volunteers are needed between 4 and 7 p.m. Thursday to help serve at the Faith and Community Thanksgiving Day dinner for people in need in Lexington, advocate Ginny Ramsey said.
People living on the streets or who have no place to go will be among those eating dinner 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the fellowship hall of Central Christian Church on East Short Street, Ramsey said.
Approximately 500 to 600 people are typically served at the dinner, which is in its 18th year, and carry-out orders are made available to elderly citizens, she said.
Volunteers are also asked to bring hats, coats, gloves and other outerwear to those who are eating the meal, she said.
