City government: Closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Jan. 1.
Courts: Circuit and district court closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

U.S. Postal Service: No regular mail delivery, pickup or retail services Wednesday and Jan. 1.
Lexington Public Library: Closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Jan. 1. Closing at 5 p.m. Dec. 31.
Health department: Closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Lextran: Reduced Sunday schedule on Wednesday and Jan. 1.
City garbage: Operating on regular schedule. (Wednesdays are normally used for employee training and equipment maintenance.)
Discarded live Christmas trees for those who receive city collection will begin Thursday. Trees will be picked up on your normal collection day and taken to the city's composting facility to be converted into mulch. All decorations and wrappings must be removed trees.
The Lexington Recycling Center will be closed Wednesday and Jan. 1.
The city's Electronic Recycling Center and the Haley Pike Waste Management facility will be closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Jan. 1.
