About nine flights out of Lexington's Blue Grass Airport were canceled, airport spokeswoman Amy Caudill said. Caudill said that was mainly due to airlines deciding not to send their planes into Lexington with a winter storm going on.
"They generally don't like to bring airplanes into a city that's expecting snow and then have their airplanes stuck," she said. "It will be interesting to see how the snow will affect us as the day goes on."
Blue Grass Airport is open and crews are working to keep runways and taxiways clear of snow, Caudill said.
