CentrePointe block will be rockin'
If your downtown, you might feel and hear the blasting at the CentrePointe development site. Blasting is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and there will be one blast a day, five to six days a week, officials said. No blasting will occur during the Boys' Sweet Sixteen basketball tournament March 19-23. Blasting is expected to take several weeks and traffic will be stopped for 5-10 minutes at four intersections around the CentrePointe block: Main Street at Limestone Street; Upper Street at Main Street; Vine Street at Upper Street and Limestone Street at Vine Street. The Kentucky women's basketball team will host a free NCAA Selection Show party on in Memorial Coliseum. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the selection show airing on the big screen at 7 p.m. For the first time in program history, UK has been selected to host the first and second rounds of the tournament.
