Daily blasting at the CentrePointe construction site starts Monday, requiring pedestrian and vehicle traffic to stop briefly on four downtown streets. There will be one blast a day at 10 a.m., five to six days a week. No blasting will occur during the Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Boys' Sweet Sixteen basketball tournament March 19-23. Blasting is expected to take several weeks and traffic will be stopped for 5-10 minutes at four intersections around the CentrePointe block: Main Street at Limestone Street; Upper Street at Main Street; Vine Street at Upper Street and Limestone Street at Vine Street. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announced a temporary lane closure for Interstate 75 in Fayette County. The right lane of southbound I-75 between mile points 106 and 98 (the Clay's Ferry Bridge in Madison County) will close at 7:30 a.m. Monday for approximately two weeks for rehabilitation work on the interstate.

The Division of Traffic Engineering will be installing speed humps on Huston Alley on Friday weather permitting. Motorists should use caution while traffic adapts to the new traffic control measures.
MAJOR TRAFFIC IMPACT
Inbound and outbound Clays Mill Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction between Higbee Mill Road and Twain Ridge Road through April 4, as part of the Clays Mill Road widening project.
SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
Chinoe Road will be closed to thru traffic between Hart Road and Cochran Road through Monday for pavement repairs.
Grimes Mill Road will be closed at McCall's Mill Road at the Clark County line through March 31 for bridge replacement.
There will be a rolling blockage of the right inbound lane of Nicholasville Road between Tahoma Road and Hiltonia Park through Friday for utility work.
The sidewalk and left turn lane of South Limestone Street will be blocked at West Main Street through June 20, for the CentrePointe project.
The left lane and parking area of South Upper Street will be blocked between West Vine Street and West High Street on Monday and Tuesday for pavement repair.
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
The westbound right lane of Carlisle Avenue will be closed from Oak Hill Drive to Bryan Avenue through March 31 for utility work.
The inbound lane of East Third Street will be blocked between Shropshire Avenue and Race Street through Wednesday for pavement repair. Two-way traffic will be maintained.
The parking places on Euclid Avenue in front of 824 Euclid will be blocked by a dumpster through Tuesday for construction.
Locust Avenue will be closed between Bryan Avenue and Oak Hill Drive with local access maintained through May 2 for a street and sewer project.
A dumpster in front of 515 North Limestone will partially block traffic through April 4 for residential construction.
The right turn lane of North Limestone Street and the right lane of Short Street will be closed at the intersection through March 26, while repairs are made to the courthouse complex.
One lane at a time of Vendor Way will be blocked between Pink Pigeon Parkway and Flying Ebony Drive through Friday for utility work.
The left turn lane of West Main Street will be partially blocked at West Vine Street by a dumpster through April 10 for the World Trade Center renovation.
One lane in each direction of Westhampton Drive will be blocked at Leestown Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday for utility work. Northbound traffic will be diverted to the other side of the median.
The right lane of West Second Street will be blocked between Jefferson Street and Old Georgetown Street through Wednesday for pavement repairs.
The left turn lane of West Vine Street will be blocked at South Limestone Street through June 20 for the CentrePointe project.
