Daily blasting at the CentrePointe construction site has started. There will be one blast a day at 10 a.m., five to six days a week. Blasting is expected to take several weeks. Traffic will be stopped for five to 10 minutes at four intersections around the CentrePointe block: Main Street at Limestone; Upper Street at Main Street; Vine Street at Upper Street; and Limestone at Vine Street. Pedestrian traffic near the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza could be congested 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday for the Take Back the Night march.
The Run the Bluegrass Half-Marathon will have the following impact on roads around Keeneland Race Course from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday: Rice Road will be closed between Keeneland Gate No. 3 and Bosworth Lane; Bosworth, Elkchester and Redd Roads and Old Frankfort Pike will be closed between Redd and Elkchester Roads. Van Meter Road will be closed.
The Division of Engineering issued the following grading permits March 14 to 20: 920 Citation Boulevard, 527 Laketower Drive, 1344 Sugar Maple Lane, 257 Somersly Place, 1819 Falling Leaves, 2317 Walcot Way, 7225 Turner Station Road, 3680 Winthrop Drive, 5301 Blue Sky Parkway and 1501 Wellesley Drive. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.
MAJOR TRAFFIC IMPACT
Inbound and outbound Clays Mill Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction between Higbee Mill Road and Twain Ridge Road through April 4 as part of the Clays Mill Road widening project.
SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
Grimes Mill Road will be closed at McCall's Mill Road at the Clark County line through March 31 for bridge replacement.
The right lane of the inner loop of Man o' War Boulevard will be closed between Trent Boulevard and Belleau Wood Drive through April 3 for sidewalk replacement.
Shaker Drive is closed to through traffic between Mason Headley Road and Bob o' Link Drive through May 9 for sewer line replacement. There is a signed detour in place.
The sidewalk and left turn lane of South Limestone will be blocked at West Main Street through June 20 for the CentrePointe project.
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
Algonquin Street will be closed between West Main Street and West Short Street through Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for crane work.
The westbound right lane of Carlisle Avenue will be closed from Oak Hill Drive to Bryan Avenue through March 31 for utility work.
The eastbound curb lane of East Third Street will be blocked between North Upper Street and North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Thursday for cable work.
The inbound right lane of Leestown Road will be blocked at Greendale Road through Wednesday while a new traffic signal is installed.
Locust Avenue will be closed between Bryan Avenue and Oak Hill Drive with local access maintained through May 2 for a street and sewer project.
The right turn lane of North Limestone and the right lane of Short Street will be closed at the intersection through Wednesday while repairs are made to the courthouse complex.
The left turn lane of West Main Street will be partially blocked at West Vine Street by a Dumpster through April 10 for the World Trade Center renovation.
The left turn lane of West Vine Street will be blocked at South Limestone through June 20 for the CentrePointe project.
The outbound lane of Winchester Road will be blocked between Hume Road and Polo Club Boulevard through Friday to replace utility poles and wire.
