University of Kentucky student Tiwaladeoluwa "Tiwa" Adekunle led five people on a march from the UK Student Center to Triangle Park in downtown Lexington on Wednesday in solidarity with more than 200 Nigerian girls who were kidnapped last month.
"I feel very touched by what's happening," the Nigerian native said. "I wish more people would have shown up, but it doesn't matter. We'll do what we can. I ask that you all continue to pray for these girls."
The five marched while holding signs and chanting "Education is power! Freedom is our right!" The signs featured the Twitter hashtag #BringBackOurGirls, which has generated an international social media push.
