The Lexington Fire Department issued an open-burning ban for Fayette County on Wednesday morning.
The ban is being issued because of a National Weather Advisory warning the city of an expected cold front that will bring wind up to 25 mph and low humidity levels.
Citizens are urged not set any fire outdoors until the ban is lifted. The ban includes refuse, cooking and construction debris fires. All open burn permits are suspended during the ban. The ban applies to all residents and businesses in Fayette County, including those in rural and urban areas.
