Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government employee Jackie French was honored recently for 38 years of service at Parks and Recreation.
During the July 17 Super Sunday basketball showcase, Council Member James Brown presented French with a proclamation from Mayor Jim Gray declaring that day as “Jackie French Day” in Lexington.
Super Sunday is annual basketball event, organized in part by French, who has also organized the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government men’s adult “Dirt Bowl” basketball league since 1979.
During the event, French also received a Certificate of Appreciation plaque from the Georgetown Street Area Neighborhood Association for her service and contributions toward the sustainable development of Douglass Park.
For nearly 40 years, Super Sunday has been held at Douglass Park and features Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government men’s summer league games throughout the day.
