Registration for the 2016 A Midsummer Night’s Run, scheduled for Aug. 13 in downtown Lexington, is underway during business hours at John’s Run/Walk Shop, 317 South Ashland Avenue.
Registration will continue until the end of business on Aug. 12. Participants can save money by registering in person at John’s. Registering online (through midnight Aug. 12) at amidsummer5K.com costs about $2 more for a processing fee.
Race-day registration will begin at 2 p.m. at the Robert E. Stephens Courthouse plaza. Activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. with The Fastest Kid in Town, a series of sprints for ages 3-12. The One-Mile Fun Walk/Run, offering casual family fun, will get underway at 6:30 p.m. The main event, the 5K race, will start at 8 p.m.
Cost at John’s for the 5K is $20, the one-mile is $15, and the fastest kid is $15. Combination deals are also available. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
