The Fayette County coroner has released the name of the 44-year-old man who was killed when his vehicle struck a rock wall.
William Arthur Stone Jr. died at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, according to the coroner’s office.
Stone’s vehicle left the road and struck the rock wall about 5:30 p.m. on Ironworks Pike near Interstate 75, police Sgt. Jeffrey Hyer said.
Police think the crash occurred after the driver suffered a medical emergency, Hyer said.
According to a witness, it appeared that the man was driving normally until his vehicle abruptly left the road, Hyer said.
Shannon Funeral Home of Shelbyville is in charge of funeral arrangements.
