Gov. Steve Beshear raised more than $660,000 for his re-election campaign in the most recent quarter, his campaign announced Tuesday.
Beshear and his running mate, Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson, have more than $2 million on hand for the 2011 race, the campaign said.
It was not the best fund-raising quarter Beshear has had for next year's race. In the first three months of the year, the campaign took in more than $900,000 in contributions, according to the Web site of the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance.
Fund-raising for the U.S. Senate race could have affected Beshear's totals in the April-June quarter.
All told, Beshear and Abramson have taken in more than $2.6 million for the 2011 election, the campaign said.
Beshear has only token opposition so far in the May 2011 Democratic primary.
