A Franklin County high school student died Saturday after a sport-utility vehicle hit the Toyota Camry the teenager was driving, Franklin County Coroner Will Harrod said.
Trisha Shoemaker, 17, died at the scene of the crash about 3:05 p.m., Harrod said. The wreck occurred at the intersection of Ky. 127 and Green Wilson Road.
Shoemaker, who was wearing a seat belt, was a junior at Western Hills High School in Frankfort.
Harrod Brother's Funeral Home will handle arrangements.

Harrod said the Franklin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the wreck.
