An indoor-growing operation found in a Franklin County house led to the seizure of 39 pounds of processed marijuana and the arrests of a father and son, Sheriff Pat Melton said Monday.
The basement operation was discovered Sunday after a deputy responded to a call about a reckless driver near Creekside Lane southwest of Frankfort. A vehicle matching the description was found parked at 200 Creekside Lane. A strong odor of marijuana was coming from the house as the deputy approached, according to a news release.
That led to the discovery of marijuana grown hydroponically and 31 marijuana plants, Melton said.
"He had four high-pressure sodium light bulbs hooked up," Melton said. "It's not typical of what you see every day."
