A contract trailer carrying Jim Beam whiskey buckled on U.S. 60 in Frankfort Tuesday, but little if any of the product was damaged, said Tom Russell, director of emergency management for Franklin County.
The tractor-trailer was headed out of town when the middle of the trailer collapsed at 11:30 a.m. about a quarter mile from the intersection with Georgetown Road, Russell said. The structural rails of the trailer buckled and caused the trailer to collapse in the middle.
"I don't know the exact number of cases on it," Russell said. "Didn't look like any of it broke. I didn't see anything leaking."
By 5 p.m., the bourbon had been moved to another truck, but Russell said he didn't know where it would go.
Never miss a local story.
Two lanes were blocked, and outbound traffic used the third lane and center, Russell said. A wrecker was to pull the disabled rig away.
