A Frankfort intersection was closed Wednesday after part of the pavement collapsed because of a hole that formed in the ground beneath the roadway.
Shelby Street (Ky. 2259) at Fourth Street in downtown Frankfort was closed to traffic, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said in a release.
Crews were to spend Wednesday night filling the hole with concrete. Once the concrete has cured, workers will patch the roadway with asphalt. This intersection will remain closed until late in the day Thursday.
