Celebrate the Kentucky River’s heritage with River Blast from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at First Vineyard, 5800 Sugar Creek Pike, Nicholasville. Activities include a grape stomp, storytelling by Georgie Riddell, two kayak raffles, wine, beer, food, and music by Conch Republic and Sassafras. The Kentucky Small Business Development Center will present a program for small business owners and new business start-ups at noon Thursday at the Jessamine County Public Library, 600 South Main Street, Nicholasville. Metrognomes to play in Wilmore

The Metrognomes, a 19-piece band, will play hits from across the years featuring jazz, Latin, rock and swing on the Wilmore Downtown Green at 7 p.m. Saturday. This will be the final outdoor concert of the season at the venue. Chairs and tables will be provided, as well as refreshments for purchase from a local food vendor; or bring your own chairs, blankets and snacks. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the High Bridge Community Center or pet food for the Jessamine Animal Shelter. The approximate address is Rice Street and Walters Lane. Kentucky Collectors to meet
The Kentucky Collectors will host an open “show and tell” meeting at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the Community Center at Wesley Village, 1125 Lexington Road, Wilmore.
