NICHOLASVILLE — A man has been charged in a string of commercial burglaries, including break-ins at a funeral home, a day care center, an auto parts store and a chiropractor's office, Nicholasville police said.
William "Tyler" Burgin, 21, is charged with 10 counts of third-degree burglary and one count of theft by unlawful taking over $500, Nicholasville police said. All counts are felonies punishable by one to five years in prison.
Burgin also is charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500, first-degree burglary and second-degree escape.
Police have recovered some of the property in the burglaries.
Last week, Burgin escaped from police custody in Lexington while on a supervised furlough from the Jessamine County jail.
He was later caught by police in Nicholasville, not far from the jail.
