NICHOLASVILLE — A small fire Friday afternoon forced the evacuation of East Jessamine High School.
Bob Carpenter, battalion chief for the Nicholasville Fire Department, said a short circuit in a lighted exit sign caused a small amount of smoke.
Firefighters were called to the school about 1:20 p.m. Friday.
No one was injured, and the evacuated students were going back to class by 1:40 p.m.
