A Nicholasville man died Sunday after a two-vehicle crash in Garrard County, according to the Fayette County coroner's office.
Charles Johnson, 80, was pronounced dead at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, a release from the coroner's office said.
Johnson was the driver of a 1991 Toyota Camry traveling south on Ky. 39 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 27 in Lancaster. Upon entering the intersection, the Camry was struck by a Chevrolet Lumina traveling north on U.S. 27, the coroner said. The accident happened at 1:15 p.m. Sunday.
Johnson died of blunt force trauma shortly after his arrival at UK.
