The Providence School served up homemade soup in ceramic bowls created by art students on May 20 at the annual Empty Bowls luncheon. Proceeds from the luncheon were donated to For His Own, a Jessamine County charity that feeds needy families. Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger that is personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level.
Jessamine issues 'adventure' passports
Destination Jessamine Passports to Adventure begins June 8. More than a dozen Jessamine County businesses have signed on as passport destinations and have donated items to be given away. To participate, residents and visitors may pick up their free passport at the Jessamine County Judge/Executive offices in the county courthouse, the Jessamine Chamber office on Main Street or Wilmore City Hall.

Children can learn about bicycle and water safety from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday at the Saint Joseph-Jessamine RJ Corman Ambulatory Care Center. Activities include: face painting, free hot dogs and snow cones, inflatables, and bicycle giveaways.
