A Nicholasville man was charged Tuesday with first-degree assault and three counts of wanton endangerment as a result of a shooting Monday night, according to the Jessamine County Sheriff's Office.
Two people suffered minor injuries, sheriff's deputies said.
Deputies arrived at the home of Joseph Cartwright and Kristin Cartwright, 2081 Sugar Creek Pike, about 10 p.m. Monday and discovered that a shotgun had been fired at a car leaving the home.
Kristin Cartwright was in the vehicle with another passenger, Justin Perkins, and both had been shot.
Joseph Cartwright was arrested Tuesday morning. In addition to the assault and endangerment charges, he was charged with fleeing and evading police. He was taken to a hospital after he fell down a set of stairs during his arrest, sheriff's deputy Larry Oliver said.
