A woman was hurt and caused a considerable amount of damage to a Jessamine County fire station Friday after she drove through a side wall and then tried to back out.
Bonnie Pierce was taken to a hospital for treatment of neck and hip pain, said Jessamine County Fire Chief Mike Rupard.
The incident happened at about 2 p.m. Friday, Rupard said, when Pierce drove a car through a side wall of Jessamine Fire Station No. 2 on Union Mill Road (Ky. 169) east of Nicholasville, Rupard said.
The car went into an office, through another interior wall, and into a front reception area. She then spun her tires, causing skid marks on the floor, while trying to back out of the building, Rupard said.
Never miss a local story.
Rupard did not know an estimate of the damage, but he said Pierce might be charged by the Jessamine County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators were unsure Friday what caused the accident.
Station 2, which opened in the late 1990s, is one of seven in Jessamine County.
