Nicholasville police investigated an alleged hit-and-run incident Friday that injured a 3- or 4-year boy.
Officer Kevin Grimes said the boy was alert, conscious and talking at the scene in the 700 block of Chestnut Street. The boy was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital to be checked out.
"He definitely had what I would say was an extensive case of road rash," Grimes said. "His arm was pretty well scratched up."
Police were interviewing a 17-year-old girl who had put a gold Nissan Altima in reverse and then struck the boy, Grimes said. The incident was reported shortly before 2:30 p.m. Friday, and police located the car a short time later.
"It appeared as though she backed over him," Grimes said.
Grimes said it was too early to say if charges will be brought against the driver.
