A second man has been charged in connection with the theft of more than $40,000 worth of copper from a Madison County factory, police said.
Trevor D. Mekelburg, 18, of Owingsville was charged Wednesday as an accomplice in the theft of copper cable and metal tape from The Okonite Co. in Richmond.
In June, police charged Timothy D. Bolden, 33, of Berea with theft of $10,000 or more, theft of $500 to $10,000 and tampering with physical evidence.
Mekelburg was charged with complicity to theft by taking over $500. He was being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
The Okonite Co. reported separate thefts in April 2010 and in June, Richmond police said.
