A Danville man surrendered to Richmond police and was charged in a June 24 shooting.
Eldon L. Washington, 25, turned himself in Sunday night at the Richmond police department. He is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree burglary and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Washington is accused of shooting a 22-year-old woman who was visiting a friend in the 700 block of Sizemore Drive. Police did not identify the victim, who was shot in the abdomen and underwent surgery at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. The injury was not life-threatening, authorities said.
Washington was taken to the Madison County Detention Center, where he was being held on a $100,000 cash bond.

Washington and George V. McPherson, 26, of Danville were reported to have had previous relationships with the two women involved. Both men fled after the shooting.
Richmond police said McPherson is no longer sought in the investigation.
Washington also was charged with failure to appear in Madison District Court and with a parole violation issued for a previous drug conviction, Richmond police said.
