Former high school basketball star Jonathan “Bud” Mackey was released from jail early Thursday after serving a 60-day sentence for violating a bond agreement stemming from a felony drug charge.
He was released at 12:01 a.m., according to Scott County police officials.

Earl Mackey, the young man's grandfather, declined to comment when reached at his home Thursday.
Circuit Judge Rob Johnson found Mackey in contempt of court in May after he stopped attending Harmony Community School in Cincinnati, where he was on the basketball team.
Mackey had been out on a $10,000 bond on the drug charge.
Mackey was the Sweet Sixteen's most valuable player while on Scott County's 2007 state championship team and had planned to play basketball at Indiana University.
He was charged in September. Police said he had 1.6 grams of rock cocaine in his shoe when he was arrested at Scott County High School.
Mackey faces an August trial on the drug charge.
