A 61-year-old Georgetown man died Tuesday when his car collided with a tractor-trailer on Georgetown Road, Lexington police said.
Michael D. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. He died from blunt-force trauma, according to a coroner's release.
Lexington police went to the Sunset Motel at 4020 Georgetown Road after someone reported that a vehicle had hit a pole and then continued outbound on Georgetown Road.
A witness followed the driver and told police that the car, a 2006 Suzuki Forenza, collided with the tractor-trailer at Georgetown Road and Iron Works Pike about 11:25 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Robert C. Winters, 52, of Toledo, Ohio, was not injured.
Police said drug and alcohol toxicology results were pending for Jones.
