An autopsy has confirmed drowning as the cause of death of a small child found Saturday in her grandparents' swimming pool in Georgetown, Scott County Coroner John Goble said.
Katelyn Cook, 2, was first noticed by her brother, who is about three years old, Goble said. The boy ran into the house screaming, and their grandmother hurried to the pool and administered CPR until an ambulance arrived, Goble said.
The child was rushed to Georgetown Community Hospital, where she died.
The accident occurred about 6 p.m. Saturday on Carlson Spring Drive.
