A Scott County grand jury indicted Odilon Paz-Salvador on Thursday on charges of murder, wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, fleeing or evading police and driving without a license. Salvador is accused of killing a Lexington cyclist in May.
Salvador's bail is set at $500,000, and he will be arraigned at 1 p.m. Aug. 7.
Salvador, 29, from Mexico, was driving when he hit and killed Mark Hinkel, who was riding a bicycle, during the Horsey Hundred cycling event May 23 in Scott County, police say. Salvador allegedly drove 3 miles with a seriously injured Hinkel on the back of his truck before Georgetown police stopped him.
